Declared

In the ancient world, a name was a declaration. It carried a person’s character, their story, the shape of who they were — and Scripture uses that same idea to introduce us to God. Again and again, He doesn’t just act on His people’s behalf; He tells them His name. Each one is a window into who He is. To call God by His names is to rehearse what He has shown Himself to be: faithful, present, providing, near.
